Failed payment: read-only, archiving and deletion
What happens, day after day, when a payment fails or a subscription ends, and how to get your workspace back.
When a payment fails, your workspace does not stop all at once. It goes through several stages, and you can reactivate it as long as your data has not been deleted.
Days 1 to 7: grace period
You keep full access to Upsellr. A banner shows “A payment failed” and the number of days remaining. Auto-refill and credit purchases are suspended.
Click Update payment method to correct your payment method. After these 7 days, your credits are frozen until the payment is settled.
Days 8 to 30: read-only
The “Your workspace is read-only until” banner shows the end date. You can:
- view your catalog;
- export your data, with Marcus’s help if needed.
Everything else is suspended: generations, credit consumption, imports, workflows, publishing, synchronizations, connectors and API. To get out of it, click Settle the payment or See plans.
Days 31 to 90: archiving
The “Your workspace is archived” screen replaces the app. The catalog and Marcus are no longer accessible. What remains:
- See plans, to subscribe again;
- Download my products (.csv): one file per channel, plus the product reference data.
After day 90: deletion
Your data is irreversibly deleted. Backups are purged within the following 35 days.
When a subscription ends
After a cancellation, the same logic applies from the end date: 30 days read-only, then archiving until day 90, then deletion.
Good to know
- Paying all amounts due before deletion reactivates your workspace. Purchased credits that are still valid are then restored.
- The credits included in the subscription can no longer be used from the moment the workspace becomes read-only.
- Purchased credits are frozen during read-only and archiving, without their expiry date being extended.
- For a full export before deletion, see retrieve your data.
