Tech and electronics

The customer compares three tabs.
They buy on the one that answers.

Will it work with my phone, how many hours of battery life, which cable is in the box: before buying, the customer opens several websites and keeps the one that answers. Upsellr writes product pages that answer, with the manufacturer’s figures, across your whole catalog.

01The aisle’s challenges

What doesn’t plug in
comes back as a return.

Tech is the aisle where a product page is compared line by line with the competitor’s. Six situations your customers run into every day, and what Upsellr does about them.

  1. Accessories and cables01

    Compatible with what?

A charger, a case or a cable is useless if it doesn’t go with the customer’s device. The supplier file rarely gives the list of devices and supported standards.

    From the supplier

    USB-C charger 65W

    On your page

65 W USB Power Delivery charging: USB-C laptops and smartphones, found on the manufacturer’s website

    Website search
  2. The whole aisle02

    128GB, 128 Go or 128 gig

Storage, frequency, power: every supplier writes its units its own way. Your filters stop finding anything and two identical models look different.

    From the supplier

    128GB128 Go128 gig

    On your page

Storage capacity: 128 GB, written the same way on every page of the channel

    Harmonized units and values
  3. Phones and computing03

The same product, twice in the catalog

Two suppliers send the same smartphone under two product names. Without checks, it shows up twice, with two pages that contradict each other.

    On your page

Same model, same capacity, same color: flagged as a duplicate before going live

    Duplicate detection
  4. TV and appliances04

    The labels customers look for

On a TV or a washing machine, the energy class and the repairability index are part of the comparison. They’re often in a manufacturer PDF, not in the file.

    From the supplier

    TV 55 4K

    On your page

Energy class F, repairability index 7.2 out of 10, taken from the manufacturer’s PDF sheet

    PDF extraction
  5. Smart devices05

What it takes to make it work

An app, a hub, a specific protocol: some products don’t work on their own. A customer who finds out on delivery sends the product back.

    From the supplier

    Smart bulb E27

    On your page

Zigbee protocol: a compatible hub is required, not included

  6. The sector’s marketplaces06

Amazon and the rest: their rules, not yours

Every electronics marketplace has its own categories, mandatory attributes and value lists. An incomplete listing doesn’t go live.

    On your page

02The Tech library

Everything a tech product page needs,
units included.

Upsellr gives you a library built for tech and electronics: the aisle’s product families, each family’s technical attributes with their units, from inches to decibels, and their value lists, and the fields that make up a product page in the sector. Your Tech channel starts with it, with nothing to model.

  • 10product families
  • 44technical attributes
  • 29ready-made value lists
  • 4page fields, each with its instructions

Your channel receives the sector library: its families, their characteristics and their value lists.

The sector’s page template arrives with its sections, each with its own expert instructions.

Every generated page follows this template, with your product’s data.

03The aisle’s tone

Standards and figures,
not superlatives.

Technical and understated, accessible without dumbing down: the customer is comparing product pages and looking for what sets this one apart.

Discover these revolutionary headphones with exceptional sound! An incredible immersive experience for whatever you’re into.

Three-level active noise canceling, transparency mode to hear station announcements. Multipoint Bluetooth: phone and computer stay connected. Stated battery life of 40 hours.

Do

  • Figures and standards instead of adjectives
  • Compatibility and connectors, stated explicitly
  • What the figure means in a typical day
  • Manufacturer data presented as such: “stated battery life of 40 hours”

Avoid

  • Superlatives and exclamation marks
  • Manufacturers’ marketing vocabulary
  • Any figure missing from the sources

Your questions.
Straight answers.

What you need to know before you start.

Can Upsellr find an accessory’s compatibilities?

Yes, when they’re published: the enrichment agent looks for them on the manufacturer’s website and in the manuals, and keeps the source of every value. A compatibility missing from the sources is never added.

Are units harmonized?

Yes, at generation: each channel’s page writes units and values to its own rules, 128 GB rather than 128GB. The master data keeps values as they arrived, with their source.

What about energy class or repairability index?

They’re attributes of the library, attached to the relevant families. The enrichment agent reads them on the manufacturer’s website and in its PDFs, and the documents useful to the customer can be attached to the page.

Two suppliers send me the same product: what happens?

Upsellr flags the likely duplicate after import and lets you decide. Nothing is published without your approval.

I also sell on Amazon or other marketplaces: how does that work?

Each marketplace listing is written to the channel’s rules: category, mandatory attributes, value lists. Connectors are on their way; in the meantime, the listing exports in the marketplace’s template.
