Auto and moto

At the counter, they ask for your car papers.
Online, the page says if it fits.

The right model, the right engine, the right year: at a parts counter, the assistant checks before selling. Upsellr writes product pages that say just as clearly what the part fits, with the manufacturer’s data, across your whole catalog.

What it changes on the road

  3. “Which size for a 58 cm head?”

01The aisle’s challenges

A part that doesn’t fit
is a part that comes back.

Auto and moto is the aisle where a mistake on the page shows up when the part comes off. Six situations your customers run into every day, and what Upsellr does about them.

  1. Brakes and suspension01

    Which vehicle, exactly?

A brake pad or disc is sold for a specific model, engine and range of years. The supplier file gives a reference, rarely the list of compatible vehicles.

    From the supplier

    Front pads ref. 23456

    On your page

Front axle, compatible vehicles taken from the manufacturer’s PDF catalog, no model extrapolated

    PDF extraction
  2. Rider gear02

    Approved, or not?

A helmet, gloves or a jacket are a matter of rider safety. Approval and protection level are declared field by field, not buried in a sentence.

    From the supplier

    Summer leather motorcycle gloves

    On your page

CE approved, level 1, sizes S to XXL filled in, flagged when missing

    Missing fields by category
  3. Tyres and wheels03

    205/55 R16 91V, on one line

A tyre size reads as width, profile, diameter, load index and speed rating. Written in a hurry, it no longer matches the customer’s filters.

    From the supplier

    205 55 16 V205/55R16 91 V

    On your page

Size 205/55 R16, ratings 91V, summer tyre, written the same way on every page of the channel

    Harmonized units and values
  4. Maintenance and fluids04

    5W-30, but which spec?

Engine oil is chosen by its viscosity and the spec required by the vehicle manufacturer. If the spec is missing, the customer hesitates or gets it wrong.

    From the supplier

    Engine oil 5W30 5L

    On your page

Viscosity 5W-30, ACEA C3 spec, 5 l capacity, read from the photo of the can

    Photo analysis
  5. Engine parts and electrical05

    The fitting instructions, before buying

A tightening torque, special tools, battery coding: some jobs need preparing. The instructions exist, but rarely next to the product.

    From the supplier

    No documents

    On your page

Fitting instructions and technical data sheet attached to the page

    Document selection
  6. The sector’s marketplaces06

Amazon, ManoMano: their rules, not yours

Every auto parts marketplace has its own categories, mandatory fields and value lists. An incomplete listing doesn’t go live.

    From the supplier

02The Auto-Moto library

Everything an auto product page needs,
from dimensions to approval.

Upsellr gives you a library built for auto and moto: the aisle’s product families, each family’s technical attributes with their units and value lists, from viscosity to load index, and the fields that make up a product page in the sector. Your Auto-Moto channel starts with it, with nothing to model.

  • 10product families
  • 39technical attributes
  • 28ready-made value lists
  • 4page fields, each with its instructions

Your channel receives the sector library: its families, their characteristics and their value lists.

The sector’s page template arrives with its sections, each with its own expert instructions.

Every generated page follows this template, with your product’s data.

03The aisle’s tone

Dimensions and standards
instead of adjectives.

Technical and careful: the customer checks that the part fits their vehicle before looking at anything else.

These high-end brake pads deliver exceptional stopping power! Premium quality for total peace of mind on the road.

Ceramic friction material: less dust on the wheels, consistent bite from the first stop. OE dimensions, fits without modification, fitting kit included. Bed in over 200 km, without hard braking.

Do

  • References, dimensions and standards
  • Compatibility stated without ambiguity
  • What to check before driving
  • Manufacturer data presented as such: “stated approval ECE 22.06”

Avoid

  • Superlatives and exclamation marks
  • Performance promises
  • Any compatibility missing from the sources

Your questions.
Straight answers.

What you need to know before you start.

Can Upsellr add a vehicle compatibility?

Only if it’s in the product’s data: supplier file, PDF catalog or manufacturer’s website, with its source. Otherwise it stays missing and the channel’s completeness flags it: no model is extrapolated.

Are approvals handled?

Yes. Approval is a common attribute of the Auto-Moto library, filled in field by field rather than buried in the text. You can make it mandatory for the categories that require it, such as rider gear.

My supplier publishes its compatibilities in a PDF catalog: can that be used?

Yes. Upsellr imports the PDF and extracts its data, and every value taken from it keeps its source. You approve before anything is published.

I also sell on Amazon or ManoMano: how does that work?

Each marketplace listing is written to the channel’s rules: category, mandatory attributes, value lists. Connectors are on their way; in the meantime, the listing exports in the marketplace’s template.

My store already has its categories: what happens to the sector library?

It’s a starting point while your store can’t be read yet. As soon as your store or your PIM is connected, your own categories apply, and you can add your own attributes.
