Missing fields by category

What’s missing,
category by category.

A drill must state its chuck, a rotary hammer its impact energy, a hedge trimmer its blade length. Upsellr checks each product against the attributes its category requires: a required cell that’s empty or fails the criteria turns red, with an alert icon that explains the issue on hover.

01The starting point

An empty field,
lost in the crowd.

Each category has its essential attributes, and they change from one family to another. Across thousands of products, an empty field goes unnoticed, until the filter that finds nothing or the customer who asks the question.

  • Requirements specific to each familyThe chuck matters for a drill, not for a grinder.
  • Gaps lost in the crowdAn empty field can’t be spotted by browsing the catalog.
  • Filters that find nothingA product without a value disappears from the filter that asks for it.

02How it works

You ask. The agents take care of it.

  1. 01Each category’s attributesRequired or optional, according to your taxonomy.
  2. 02Every product checkedAgainst what its category requires.
  3. 03Cells in redRequired and empty or failing the criteria: red background and alert icon.
  4. 04The issue on hoverThe icon says what’s missing, or what’s wrong with the value.

04What makes the difference

What matters for each category, checked.

  • Each category, its requirements.

Your taxonomy says which attributes are required for each category: a drill without a chuck turns red, a grinder without a chuck doesn’t.

  • Red, with its reason.

A required cell that’s empty, or whose value fails the criteria, turns red with an alert icon. On hover, the icon says what the issue is.

  • From gap to value.

Incomplete products can go to the enrichment agent, which looks for the missing values and cites the source of each one.

05Results to document

What you’ll be able to measure.

  • Share of complete products, by category
  • Time to fill a gap
  • Number of products missing from filters

Your questions.
Practical answers.

What you need to know before your first request.

Where do the required attributes come from?

From your taxonomy: each category lists its attributes, required or optional.

When does a cell turn red?

When a required attribute is empty, or when its value fails the field’s criteria. An alert icon appears in the cell, and hovering over it explains the issue.

Are gaps filled automatically?

No, you decide: incomplete products can go to the enrichment agent, which looks for the missing values and cites the source of each one.

What if a value doesn’t exist anywhere?

It stays flagged as missing, so you can complete it or decide to move on.

Can I check just one category?

Yes. You can limit the analysis to a category or a selection of products.
