Health and pharmacy

At the counter, the pharmacist weighs every word.
Online, the page has to as well.

Daily dose, excluded ingredients, intended users, precautions for use: at the counter, the answer is precise and promises nothing. Upsellr writes product pages that stick to the composition and the manufacturer’s statements, with no made-up claims, across your whole catalog.

01The aisle’s challenges

One word too many,
and the page promises what it can’t.

Health and pharmacy is the aisle where words are regulated: it’s the merchant who answers for the sentence. Six situations your customers run into every day, and what Upsellr does about them.

  1. Food supplements01

“Relieves”, “treats”, “cures”: the words to ban

A food supplement or a cosmetic isn’t a medicine: the page doesn’t attribute any property of preventing, treating or curing to it. It describes the composition and only uses a claim if it appears word for word in the product data.

    From the supplier

    Relieves fatigue and stress

    On your page

300 mg of marine magnesium and 1.4 mg of vitamin B6 per daily dose of two capsules

    Tone of voice
  2. Food supplements02

    Dose and precautions for use

A supplement comes with its daily dose and its precautions, a medical device with its instruction leaflet. The file often abbreviates them, the page writes them out in full, from the manufacturer’s statements.

    From the supplier

    2 caps/d

    On your page

Two capsules a day with meals. Do not exceed the recommended daily dose. Keep out of reach of young children.

    Page structure
  3. Derma-cosmetics03

FF, fragrance free or no added perfume

What the formula leaves out is often the reason to buy, for someone with an allergy or intolerance. Provided the same statement is written the same way on every page.

    From the supplier

    FFfragrance freeno added perfume

    On your page

Excluded ingredients: fragrance-free, a filterable value on every page of the channel

    Harmonized units and values
  4. Derma-cosmetics and hygiene04

The composition is on the box, not in the file

The ingredient list, the active ingredients and the period after opening are printed on the packaging. The supplier file often stops at the name and price.

    From the supplier

    Face moisturiser 50ml

    On your page

Key active ingredients, ingredient list and period after opening read from the photo of the box

    Photo analysis
  5. Medical equipment05

Device class, marking and instruction leaflet

A blood pressure monitor or a thermometer is a medical device: its class and marking are shown on the page, its leaflet can be downloaded there. Customers look for them, professionals require them.

    From the supplier

Automatic upper arm blood pressure monitor

    On your page

Class IIa medical device, CE marking, instruction leaflet attached to the page

    Document selection
  6. Orthopaedics and compression06

A compression sock isn’t described like a cream

Every family has the data that drives the purchase: compression class, body area and size for compression wear, texture and skin type for a skincare product.

    From the supplier

Compression socks cotton beige sz 2

    On your page

Compression class, body area, size and care filled in

02The Health library

Everything a health product page needs,
ready to go.

Upsellr gives you a library built for health and pharmacy: the aisle’s product families, from food supplements to medical equipment, each family’s attributes with their units and value lists, and the fields that make up a product page in the sector. Your Health channel starts with it, with nothing to model.

  • 10product families
  • 38product attributes
  • 30ready-made value lists
  • 4page fields, each with its instructions

Your channel receives the sector library: its families, their characteristics and their value lists.

The sector’s page template arrives with its sections, each with its own expert instructions.

Every generated page follows this template, with your product’s data.

03The aisle’s tone

Contents and doses
instead of promises.

Factual and understated, never reassuring through tone: the reader is looking for a verifiable fact, not a promise.

An ultra-powerful formula that fights fatigue and restores your energy in just a few days! Recommended by experts.

300 mg of marine magnesium per two-capsule dose, 80% of NRVs, with 1.4 mg of vitamin B6. Vegetable capsule, gluten-free and lactose-free. Not a substitute for a varied and balanced diet.

Do

  • Contents, doses and compliance
  • Intended users and what the formula leaves out
  • A claim from the product data, used word for word
  • Referral to a pharmacist or doctor when the manufacturer provides for it

Avoid

  • Prevent, treat, cure, relieve
  • Before/after, testimonials and superlatives
  • A sentence written in the name of a health professional

Your questions.
Straight answers.

What you need to know before you start.

How does Upsellr avoid health claims?

Every instruction in the library forbids attributing any property of preventing, treating or curing to the product. The generation agent describes the composition, the dose and the intended users, and only uses a claim if it appears in the product data. Nothing is published without your approval.

Are precautions for use and instruction leaflets handled?

Yes. Precautions found at the manufacturer stay in the master data with their source, and the leaflet or data sheet is attached to the product. Each channel page receives the documents that help the customer and the ones the channel requires.

Does Upsellr guarantee my product pages are compliant?

No, and no tool can do that for you. Upsellr writes from the manufacturer’s data, without making anything up, with instructions that rule out health claims. Reviewing and approving each page stays in your hands.

What happens when a content value or a dose is missing?

Nothing is made up: the enrichment agent searches at the manufacturer, in the leaflets and in the photos of the box. If the value still can’t be found, the field stays empty and the page flags it as to be completed.

I also sell on Amazon or other marketplaces: how does that work?

Each marketplace listing is written to the channel’s rules: category, mandatory fields, value lists. Connectors are on their way; in the meantime, the listing exports in the marketplace’s template.
