Disable or delete a channel
Pause a channel without losing anything, or delete it permanently, and what remains of your products in both cases.
A channel you no longer need can be disabled or deleted. Disabling is reversible, deleting is not.
Disable a channel
A disabled channel keeps its whole configuration but no longer publishes anything.
- Open the channel, then General.
- In the Danger zone, click Disable channel, then confirm.
The channel then shows the “Disabled” badge in the list. To put it back into service, click Re-enable.
Delete a channel
- Open the channel, then General.
- In the Danger zone, click Delete channel.
- In the Confirm deletion window, click Delete permanently.
You can also ask Marcus to do it. He then shows an “Approval required” card that lists what will be deleted: nothing goes before you click Approve.
What is deleted, what remains
Permanently deleted:
- the channel’s categories;
- its characteristics and its taxonomy;
- its template and its fields;
- its rules and its export settings.
Left intact:
- your products and their master data;
- the connection to your store, managed in Connectors.
Good to know
- Deletion is irreversible: no trash, no undo. If you think you may come back to this channel, disable it instead.
- Disabling or deleting a channel is reserved for the Owner and Admin roles.
- To stop syncing with the store itself, go through Connectors, not through the channel.
