Create a channel
The guided flow, from destination to channel name: categories, characteristics, taxonomy, languages, page structure and export.
Creating a channel happens in a guided conversation with Marcus. A progress rail, “Setup ·” followed by the channel’s name, shows you where you are.
The flow
- In Channels, click Add.
- Destination: choose An e-commerce store (PrestaShop, Shopify, or another platform without a connector), A PIM (Akeneo, or another PIM without a connector) or No platform to retrieve a file. Then choose the connected store, or Connect my store followed by the platform’s name, or Continue without a connection.
Let's create a new channel. Where should it send the content?
- Categories: drop a file (.csv, .xls, .json, .xml), take those of a connected platform, have them proposed with Create the categories now, write them yourself, or choose I have no categories.
- Technical specifications: take them from your store, have them proposed with Create my characteristics, write them, import them from a source or a file, or choose No characteristics.
- Taxonomy: link characteristics and categories with Detect my taxonomy (analysis of 50 products per category of your store, 0 credits) or Create my taxonomy.
- Languages: choose the generation languages.
- Product sheet structure: Marcus sets up a structure suited to your business, then variants by category. He shows what the store receives and what stays in the file only. Confirm with I approve the template and the tone of voice.
- Export: a summary of what will come out of the channel.
- Next steps: give the channel a name, then choose Generate products for this channel, Review the product page template or Do nothing for now.
Start from the channel’s files
If you already have files that describe the channel (categories, fields, content guidelines, export columns), click Choose channel files, then Analyze files. Marcus reads every sheet, asks his questions and presents a complete proposal. Nothing is applied before you validate. The product rows of these files are not imported.
Good to know
- One setup at a time. If another one is in progress, Upsellr shows “A setup is already under way”: choose Resume that setup or Cancel it and start.
- Going back to an earlier step does not erase anything.
- If you make another request along the way, choose Stay on the configuration or Open a new conversation. The setup can be resumed from the list of channels.
- Setting up a channel consumes no credits.
- Marketplaces are not available as a destination yet.
