The Sources library: find your files and platforms
What the Sources page contains, the accepted formats, the states of a file and how to organize your uploads.
The Sources page gathers everything you have brought into Upsellr: the connected platforms, your folders and every file you have dropped. This is where you find a file to import it again or review its mapping.
The three sections
- Platforms: the connected stores and PIMs, with their status and the Sync button.
- Folders: a folder gathers the uploads from the same origin, for example a supplier. It contains files, never other folders.
- Files: all your uploads, from newest to oldest, with the Name, Deposited, Size and State columns.
The Add a platform, Create a folder and Deposit a file buttons sit at the top of each section. The Search a source… field filters the list.
Accepted formats
- Spreadsheets: .xlsx, .xls and .csv.
- Catalogs: .pdf.
A file Upsellr cannot read yet is not refused: it is kept in the library, in the Not read state.
The states of a file
- Not read: the file is kept but has not been read.
- Ready to import: the file has been read, the import can start.
- Mapping to define: the columns still need to be matched to your fields.
- Importing…: the products are being created or updated.
- N references: the import is finished.
Organize a file
Each row’s menu offers Rename, Move to a folder, Take out of the folder, Download again and Archive. Renaming only changes the name shown in the library: the uploaded file keeps its original name. Archiving removes the file from the library, but the products it fed and the origin of each value are kept.
ZIP archives of spreadsheets
Open a ZIP archive in your files, then click Extract archive. Only the CSV and XLSX files it contains are extracted; the other entries are ignored. Download archive retrieves the original.
Good to know
- Maximum size per file: 50 MB for a CSV, 80 MB for an Excel workbook, 100 MB for a PDF.
- If reading a file stops partway, drop it again. If it happens again, export the sheet as .csv.
- An archive that is too large is stopped during extraction.
