Choose the imported products and protect your existing data

Filter a file's rows, handle duplicate codes and decide whether the import fills in or replaces your current values.

The Filters step of the import sets the scope: which rows enter your catalog, and what happens to the values you already have.

Status

  • All: every row of the file.
  • New: only the products missing from your catalog.
  • Existing: only the products already known, to update them.

Selection

Import everything takes every row. Select lets you add rules with Add a rule: choose a column, then the values to keep, for example a brand or a product line. The picker shows the column’s most frequent values.

Duplicates in the file

This block appears when several rows of the file share the same EAN or the same reference:

  • Don’t import the duplicates: only the first product of each code is imported.
  • Merge the duplicates: the products sharing a code form a single record.
  • Create separate products with the same code: each product has its own record and keeps this code.

Data already present

This choice applies to products that already exist:

  • Fill empty fields only (default): only the missing values are filled in.
  • Overwrite with this source’s values: the file’s values replace yours.
  • Keep current values: your values stay in place.

Estimate

At the bottom of the step, Upsellr shows how many products will be imported, and the Estimated cost. An import is free.

Good to know

  • Even with Overwrite with this source’s values, a value validated by hand or generated is never replaced. It appears in the report as a change not applied.
  • The rows set aside by your filters are counted as Out of scope in the import report.
  • A row without an identifier is created as a new product.
