Settle the duplicates detected after an import
What duplicate detection does after each import and how to choose which product to keep.
After each import, Upsellr checks whether the new products duplicate products already in your catalog. You then decide, case by case, what you keep.
The Duplicate check card
A Duplicate check card appears in the discussion. It shows “Checking the catalogue”, then:
- No duplicates: nothing to do.
- N duplicates to settle: a decision is waiting for you.
Compare before choosing
For each duplicate, the card shows what the existing product already contains: Already enriched, or the number of pages generated on your channels. The Open the existing product link opens the product already present.
Duplicate check
1 duplicate to settle
One product from your import has the same EAN as a product already in the catalog.

What to do with this duplicate?
Any deletion is confirmed before it happens.
The three choices
No choice is made by default:
- Delete the latest arrival: the imported product is deleted, the existing product stays as it is.
- Delete the oldest: the existing product is deleted, the new one replaces it.
- Keep both (or Keep everything for several duplicates): both products stay in the catalog.
Every deletion is confirmed with you before it happens.
Good to know
- Upsellr never merges two products: it keeps one, or both.
- Deletion is permanent: there is no undo and no trash. The values and generated content go with the deleted product. If a targeted product is already enriched or generated, the confirmation tells you.
- This detection covers your catalog. Duplicate codes within the same file are handled before the import, in the filters.
