Attach files to a message
The formats and sizes accepted as attachments, and what Marcus does with a spreadsheet, a PDF or an image.
You can attach files to any message for Marcus to read: a spreadsheet to import, a PDF catalog, a screenshot.
Attach a file
- Click Add (+) to the left of the message field.
- Choose Attach file and select your files.
- Add an instruction if needed, then send.
To remove a file before sending, use Remove attachment.
Accepted formats
- Spreadsheets: .csv, .xls, .xlsx
- Documents: .pdf
- Images: .png, .jpg, .webp
What Marcus does with them
- A spreadsheet or a PDF without an instruction is treated as an import: Marcus opens the import card directly, which starts by reading the file. See import a spreadsheet.
- A spreadsheet or a PDF with an instruction: Marcus follows your instruction.
- An image serves as a reference for Marcus, for example a screenshot or a photo of a product label.
Good to know
- At most 5 files per message: “You can attach at most 5 files per message.”
- At most 500 MB per file, and 5 MB per image.
- Only Marcus looks at images. If the app replies “This conversation cannot read pictures”, remove the image or address your message to Marcus.
- A format that is not on the list is refused. For a workbook Marcus cannot read, save the sheet as .csv and attach it again.
