Finding your way around the Products grid
What the Products page shows, its buttons and the types of products you come across there.
The Products page shows your whole catalog in a grid, like a spreadsheet. It holds the master data columns, then a block of columns for each sales channel.
Products
The header
- The undo and redo buttons, to go back on your latest changes.
- Full screen and Collapse. The Esc key exits full screen.
- Export, to get your products out as a file or publish them.
- Add, to import a file or create products.
The toolbar
On the left, the tabs of your views. On the right, the Search, Sort, Group, Filter and Columns buttons. A badge shows how many sorts and filters are active.
The rows
Each row is a product. Hover over a row to reveal its checkbox and the Expand row button, which opens the product page. Double-clicking the completeness bar opens it too.
You come across four types of products:
- Simple: a standalone product.
- Master product: the parent of a family of variants.
- Variant: a variation of a master product (size, color…).
- Pack: a bundle made up of other products.
The columns
- The master data columns: identity, characteristics, images, status, tags.
- The Master Data completeness column, and one completeness column per channel. See understand completeness.
- Each channel’s columns: the content generated for that channel (title, descriptions, category…).
At the bottom of the grid, New product adds an empty row.
Good to know
- New or changed products can take a few seconds to appear in the grid.
- To get a layout back later, save it as a view: see create and manage views.
