Review and validate generated content

A generated product page waits for your review before going to the store. Everything happens in the product panel.

Open a channel’s product page

1. In Products, open a product.
2. At the top of the panel, in the Content selector, choose the channel.
3. If the channel has several languages, choose the one to review. “No sheet yet” means that language has not been generated.
4. With the two-icon switch, toggle between Form, to read and correct field by field, and Preview, which shows the page as it will appear, with a preview of the Google result in SEO content.

If the channel has never been generated for this product, the panel shows “Channel not generated” and a Generate button.

Correct or regenerate

• Correct by hand: edit the field directly in Form mode.
• Regenerate one field: open the field’s menu and choose Regenerate. Marcus prepares a generation that does not touch any other field.
• Regenerate the whole page: click Regenerate at the top of the page.
• Change the instruction: the field’s menu also offers Edit the template, to fix the cause rather than the result (see the product page template).

Errors to fix

When fields have problems, a “2 fields to fix” box lists them, with Regenerate or Regenerate all. For images, it specifies the defect: a visual that does not have the size or format the channel expects, a file that is too heavy, or photos added to the master data that are not on the page yet. The Regenerate images button deals with them. The page’s status then shows “Completed with image errors”.

Validate

A finished page arrives in “Generation to validate”. After review, move it to Generation validated or Invalidated from its status menu, to the right of Regenerate. For several products at once, tick them in the grid, then More actions and Change status.

If the channel is linked to a store, the Publish to the shop button (the upward arrow, at the top of the page) sends the page. Otherwise, it goes out through file export.

Good to know

• A regeneration consumes credits, like a generation.
• A page in “Generation to validate” can already be exported. A page that is “Invalidated”, failed or completed with image errors does not go out.
• Each channel’s completeness column, in the grid, shows the missing items on hover.
