Enrichment: Lily completes the master data

What Lily looks for on the web, in images and documents, where she writes it and what it costs per product.

Enrichment fills in your products’ master data with information found outside your catalog. Lily, the enrichment agent, takes care of it.

What Lily collects

Lily first identifies the product from what you already know about it (name, brand, EAN, SKU, MPN), then she gathers:

  • product data: attributes and technical specifications;
  • images: packshots, ambiance visuals;
  • documents: manuals, datasheets, certificates.

She can read three types of sources: the web, the images already attached to the product and the documents linked to the product. For an imported PDF catalog, she only reads the pages where the product was spotted. A final step, aggregation, merges everything found into a single record.

Everything ends up in the master data

Lily only writes to the product’s master data, the single source of your data. She never touches your channels’ content: Max writes it afterward from this master data (see generating product pages).

On the product page, each value keeps its origin (Enriched from the web, for example) and the Sources section lists the references used. Images found but set aside appear under Collected images not kept, with their Rejection reason: watermark, resolution too low, duplicate, a different variant of the product…

What it costs

The cost is calculated per product. Only the steps that are turned on and that yield something are charged:

  • web search: 5 credits;
  • image collection: 2 credits;
  • attributes read from images: 2 credits;
  • document collection on the web: 2 credits, whatever their number;
  • attributes read from documents: 2 credits per document actually read;
  • aggregation: 3 credits.

A product Lily cannot identify is fully refunded. Its status then shows “Product not identified”.

Good to know

  • You cannot write directly to Lily: ask Marcus, who prepares the enrichment for you (see launch a run).
  • During the work, the product’s status goes through “Enrichment in progress”, “Search in progress” or “Aggregation in progress”, then “Enriched”.
  • A product keeps at most 12 images.
  • What Lily looks for is set in the enrichment settings.
