Connect a Shopify store

The Shopify connection uses an app you create in Shopify’s Dev Dashboard. Upsellr gives you the addresses to declare there, you paste its credentials, then you approve access on Shopify.

Before you start

• The store’s permanent address, which ends in .myshopify.com. You find it in the Shopify admin, under Settings > Domains. Your storefront’s domain does not work.
• The owner or admin role in your Upsellr organization.

Connect the store

1. Open the Connectors menu, then click Connect on the Shopify card.
2. Enter the Store address, for example my-store.myshopify.com.
3. In the Your Shopify app part, Upsellr shows three pieces of information: App URL, Allowed redirection URL and Access scopes.
4. In Shopify’s Dev Dashboard, create an app and declare these addresses and these access scopes in it.
5. Copy the app’s Client ID and Client secret, and paste them into Upsellr.
6. Click Continue on Shopify. Shopify asks you to approve Upsellr’s access, then brings you back to the app.
7. Choose what the connection is for: read your products, publish your product pages, or decide later.

You will be redirected to Shopify to authorize Upsellr.

Your Shopify app

Create an app in Shopify's Dev Dashboard, declare these addresses in it, then paste its credentials below.

A Shopify connection corresponds to a single store. To link another one, start again with its address.

Common errors

• “This is not a Shopify store address” or an address that “looks like your storefront’s own domain”: use the .myshopify.com address.
• “The client ID or client secret is not valid”: copy them again, as they are, from the app.
• “Shopify did not grant every access Upsellr needs”: restart the connection and accept all the permissions requested.
• “The connection took more than 10 minutes on Shopify’s side”: restart it and approve more quickly.
• “Every store slot of your plan is taken”: disconnect a store or change plan.
• “This Shopify store is already connected to another Upsellr organization”: switch to that organization if you belong to it, otherwise ask its owner to remove the connection.

Good to know

• To reconnect a store whose app is already set up, leave the Client ID and Client secret fields empty: the existing app is kept.
• Before your first publication, read what Upsellr does on Shopify, and what it never does.
