Attach a store to a channel

Choose the channel that publishes to your store, then align categories, characteristics, languages and fields before a test send.

To publish to a store, a channel must be attached to it. This flow aligns the channel with the store: categories, characteristics, languages and field mapping, then a test send.

Start the attachment

After connecting a store and choosing Publish my content there, Upsellr asks you “Which channel publishes to this shop?”. Choose an existing channel, or Create a channel. The Attach the shop flow then starts in the conversation.

The steps

  1. Categories: take the store’s categories, or click Keep the channel’s categories. Upsellr can then suggest common categories from your industry that the store does not have. Nothing is ticked in advance.
  2. Technical specifications: same principle. The store’s replace the channel’s, or you click Keep the channel’s.
  3. Languages: tick the languages to publish in. They are pre-ticked based on the store’s active languages.
  4. Field mapping: for each section of your product page, choose the store location that receives it. A section without a location can go In the long description, stay in File exports only, or be taken out with Remove. Click Confirm.
  5. Test send: click Send the test to publish one product page. The product arrives disabled, invisible to your customers. Check it in your back office. You can also choose Not now.

Good to know

  • Keeping the channel’s categories or characteristics remains reversible: you can import the store’s later from the channel’s page.
  • If a product already has the same reference on the store, the test updates it instead of creating a new one, and its state does not change.
  • The store’s primary language must be one of the channel’s languages, otherwise publishing fails.
  • The test send requires a product page already generated on the channel. Without one, Upsellr shows “No generated page to send yet.”
  • You can also choose the store from the channel’s Export tab: Output format, then Destination shop.
  • Once the channel is attached, see how to publish product pages to the store.
